The Venue: Kualoa Ranch

First, you need to know that Paliku Gardens is actually one of the wedding location options at a larger venue called Kualoa Ranch! I recently published a full guide about getting married at Kualoa Ranch. If you’re still considering your options and want to see what else is available at this stunning ranch, be sure to check that article out here before you continue reading this one. There are multiple stunning ceremony & reception sites, from a secret beach to fishponds and more!

Kualoa Ranch is a 4,000-acre, privately-owned ranch on the east side of Oahu, about 24 miles from Honolulu. Not only does it have an incredible amount of fun activities to offer to tourists & locals alike, it’s also an uber-popular filming location & has been a backdrop in a wild amount of movies & TV shows, including Lost, Jurassic Park, Hawaii Five-O, Jumanji, and many more! If you’re big into film sets & any of the movies/shows that have been shot here, you can take the Hollywood Movie Sites Tour for a fun adventure through the ranch.

Kualoa has tons of other activities available that you should definitely consider booking in the days surrounding your wedding. I highly recommend that you take FULL advantage of your time on the island and create as many memories as possible, and not just on the day of your wedding!

Here are a few of the other popular tours & activities available at Kualoa Ranch:

Getting Married at Paliku Gardens

Paliku Gardens is the venue located at the base of the Kanehoalani mountain peak. It provides absolutely stunning views of Kaneohe Bay. From the gardens, you can also see Mokoli’i Island (commonly known as “Chinaman’s Hat”), the beautiful blue waters of the ocean, and dreamy rolling green pastures! It’s truly an unbeatable location for a tropical Hawaii wedding overlooking the coast, in the middle of the lush green landscape.

These gardens are one of my favorite sites at Kualoa Ranch not just because of the impeccable views overlooking the ranch & the bay, but also because Kualoa thoughtfully includes a bridal suite with AC AND a private bathroom in your package. If you’ve ever visited Hawaii and experienced the heat & humidity, then you know how beneficial this is. Especially when you’re getting ready for your wedding and putting on layers of makeup + potentially a thick wedding dress! That AC will be your best friend when you arrive at Paliku🙌🏼

And, random fun fact: Paliku Gardens has been the site of multiple events hosted by celebrities including the Dalai Lama & Michelle Obama!
