After a ton of back and forth dealing with Covid and trying to plan their destination wedding in Hawaii, Colby and Kolby (not a typo – how cute is it that they have the same name?! I can’t) finally had their small intimate wedding (Jurassic Park Themed) at the beautiful Paliku Gardens Venue at Kualoa Ranch. On their original wedding date no less! C+K were originally going to have a big wedding. As most covid-couple were, opened to downsize and keep their original wedding date and venue instead of rescheduling altogether.
After deciding to stick to their guns, and even though it wasn’t the original dream, they were so happy to get to spend the day the way THEY wanted to. They had a smaller wedding, they were able to adjust their plans to include multiple locations (hello north shore and shave ice!) and tons of time for portraits.
Kualoa Ranch is one of my favorite venues on Oahu – it’s got an on-site bridal/getting ready suite complete with AC and a private indoor bathroom, and all the views your destination wedding inspo heart could ever desire. The magnificent view of the Chinaman’s hat and Koʻolau Range is absolutely breathtaking and never ever gets old, no matter how many times I’ve photographed a wedding here. Also, I’m a huge Jurassic Park fan, so any dinosaur-themed or Jurassic park-themed wedding will forever have my heart. *cue Jurassic Park theme song*
Wedding day recap:
C+K started their day at Paliku Gardens with a hilarious dinosaur suit first look (photos for proof down below), followed by an intimate ceremony overlooking Chinaman’s Hat, and popped some champagne before heading to the North Short to hit up their favorite food joints. We got the best Hawaiian shave ice at Matsumoto’s Shave ice in historic Haleiwa town and finished nearby at Haleiwa Beach park for sunset. We all sat on the beach after the sun went down and enjoyed our takeaway dinners from the best Mexican food truck on the north shore, Surf N Salsa.

Shout out and thank you to all the vendors who came together for this fabulous day:
