Outside of my own opinion that Lanikai Beach is literally heaven on earth (and definitely one of the best beaches on Oahu or in Hawaii in general), Lanikai Beach also ranks as one of the best beaches in the world.
But like – can you even blame them?
Pristine white beaches, that signature aqua ocean, and mountains and palm trees and lush tropical plants galore. It can get super busy, so an ideal time to visit Lanikai Beach (or any beach of Oahu’s eastside) is around sunrise or early morning.
I love when my Hawaii destination wedding couples opt to do a day after session. There are so many beautiful places on Oahu – it can sometimes feel like you’re missing out if you can only take advantage of one place. For example, these cuties had their elopement at Paliku Gardens at Kualoa Ranch check out their wedding blog here! which is a gorgeous, lush, tropical wedding venue with a mountain backdrop.
C+K wanted the best of both worlds.
Picturesque mountains AND gorgeous white sandy Hawaii beaches.
I said – bet 😉
So that’s exactly what we did! I met C+K right at sunrise the morning after their wedding and Colby was able to keep her hair intact and her flowers looking fresh! Her lei was a little worse for wear so I did a little bit of creative flower surgery and managed to re-create a beautiful new lei from the two she had the day before.
Bonus: these day after sessions are all about having fun and letting loose.
No more worrying about getting your suit or dress dirty. No more worrying about getting back to the reception on time for the toasts.
