Intimate Backyard Wedding in Bothell, Seattle

I don’t know about you, but backyard weddings are one of my absolute favorite things to come out of the pandemonium, the pan-Demi Lovato, whatever 2020 was to you. As soon as couples started transitioning their big weddings to intimate backyard weddings & elopements, I crossed my fingers that they would stay on trend even as the world opened up again – and I’m happy to report that they did, indeed, stay on trend 😉 Amy and Noelia were one of my 2021 couples who went through the craziness of planning a wedding during the height of COVID, and they were pure rockstars. Sharing their intimate backyard wedding in Bothell, Seattle has been on my to-do list for a while now, so here we go 😘

Amy & Noelia’s Laid-Back Backyard Wedding in Seattle

An intimate celebration at their new home

Let me give you a little backstory: these two beauties bought a home together that they lovingly updated & designed during the pandemic, so it had to be the venue for their intimate wedding, of course! I can’t imagine anything more special than marrying the love of your life at the home you’ve poured your hearts & souls into together, getting to bask in the love you share and the place you both come back to at the end of every day. 10/10 recommend getting married at your home if you’re looking for a more meaningful (and less costly) venue option for your big day ✨

Amy and Noelia kicked off their wedding day by getting ready in their home individually, building up allll the anticipation before seeing each other. They did an absolutely phenomenal job designing the home and filling it with plenty of greenery, gorgeous art pieces, and a very modern-chic aesthetic with a touch of mood in the deep green + black furniture and accent walls. Gorg.

One of the sweetest moments of the day had to be their first look in their living room, in front of the fireplace. I mean – how special is it that they got to experience this special part of their wedding in the space they spend time together in their daily lives? My heart couldn’t handle it.

A sweet ceremony under the trees

After snapping some photos of these stunners in front of the home they’ve brought to life together, they grabbed some drinks, said hi to their guests, & made their way to their front porch for the sweetest ceremony. Getting to watch them tie the knot under twinkling string lights that were strung between the trees, at the front of their home, surrounded by only their closest loved ones was an absolute honor. The sun came through the trees on their property line as they said their vows and had their first kiss under the confetti that was thrown everywhere – it was the damn sweetest ceremony from start to finish!

Tacos, cake, and toasts

Amy and Noelia planned a backyard reception that fit their laid-back vibe juuust as much as their ceremony did, from the low key toasts by their guests to the taco truck (!!) to the cold drinks being passed around. I adore backyard weddings for many reasons, one of the main ones being that nobody is there to tell you when you have to clean up + leave – you’re free to celebrate for as long as you’d like, plus you don’t have to worry about driving back to your hotel at the end of the night. These two took full advantage of the evening and just spent quality time mingling with their loved ones, giving out hugs galore, and breathing in the beautiful life they’ve created together!

This beautiful celebration was so fitting for the gorgeous couple, and every last bit of love they received was so well-deserved. It was such a pleasure getting to witness Amy and Noelia celebrating at the place they called home, with their most special people!
