Corrine and Dylan have had a year. They are on their third reschedule of their wedding and had originally planned to elope to Hawaii until Corona hit hard. But, they are the kind of couple I love to work with! The one that doesn’t let anything get in the way of their love. So, the couple traded in their Hawaii elopement for an intimate Backyard Elopement.

Their wedding is the definition of do it yourself and it was definitely a family affair! While they are still looking forward to their dream wedding in Maui next year, they couldn’t wait any longer to get married and officially start their life together.

Thank you to all vendors who made lasting memories for the Bride & Groom in this intimate backyard elopement!

Meet Corrine & Dylan Russell

Corrine and Dylan are two people who know how to be themselves! Let me tell you that’s the perfect couple for me to shoot on their special day. I love when a couple is able to completely open up and enjoy their wedding day! (even with a camera in their face)

The couple met in college and while they broke up, they found their way back to each other. Their dream wedding plan was scheduled for Maui, but they just couldn’t wait any longer to be husband and wife. So, they switched up and planned an intimate backyard elopement with just the closet friends and family.

The Intimate Backyard Elopement

It was a casual day completely representative of who the couple is together. Corrine and Dylan were married in the backyard of Dylan’s parents house, and their “first-born” cat was their ring-bearer. Corrine kept it super casual with a short dress, and their families helped them to get ready for the ceremony.

Their original elopement was supposed to be just the two of them in a private ceremony. But, Corrine says she couldn’t wait any longer to hear Dylan’s vows. They didn’t originally plan to read their personal vows aloud. When they decided to switch up the plan – the finally got the nerve to say them in front of each other and their families! They said the most special moment through the whole day was seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle.

Their theme was an upscale backyard wedding. They wanted to create that intimate vibe with bistro lights, lots of florals and greenery. It was definitely a family affair as Corinne’s Dad and Sister created the wedding arch covered in florals, and her Mom and Sister designed the floral arrangements.

The couple’s just married car was the family’s old vintage car. Corrine and Dylan capped off the evening with a celebratory joint. They said it was the time it felt most like them and representative of their relationship. The couple also had the same moment at their engagement session.

This wedding is the definition of creating something beautiful out of this time. Corrine and Dylan completely changed their plans, but created a beautiful moment and day that they’ll remember forever. They made it their own by throwing in some of their favorite things, and staying true to who they are and their love that now unifies them.

Kind Words from the Couple

“From the beginning I knew I wanted a good portion of our budget to go towards our photographer because that’s the person I’m trusting to capture our special day. Chelsea came highly recommended through my wedding coordinator and it clearly showed why. Not only was the product we received top notch the time we spent with Chelsea was so much fun!”

Their advice to future couples: “Literally anything can happen (like a pandemic) so just make sure when planning your wedding day you do it remembering it’s for you and your partner.”
